The Green Bogor Botanical Garden

 

 

The Bogor big garden is a botanical garden (Kebun Raya Bogor) located in Bogor district, West Java - Indonesia. The Bogor botanical garden is in the south of Jakarta. It can be reached easily from any train station in jakarta to Bogor. The garden is operated under the Indonesian institute of science (LIPI). And the botanical garden of Boger developed in the city center, inline with the royal palace of Indonesian Presidential (Istana Bogor). 

The gardens cover the area of 87 hectares and consist about 3,356 species of trees, plants from various locations and about 901 orchid species. They has also rare collection of plant such as: Dillenia philippinensis, Agathis dammara, Dryobalanops lanceolata, Dryobalanops lanceolata, Latania loddigesii, etc.

The botanical garden of Bogor provides various public and scientific activities include student research with prior of permission, science report services: journal, herbarium, seed bank development, etc. They have specific public service of garden attraction such as zoology museum, Dutch grave, Orchid house, Rafflesh monument, Reindwardt monument, Gunting lake and the garden itself. Thus, the Bogor botanical garden is being famous among Indonesia tourism since the garden also open for public facilities. The conservation building, garden shop, Lab of TREUB and two guest house are rented. In other hand, visitor can enjoy also bike rental to explore the garden area or rent the park for camping, wedding, photographic and shooting activity.

Transportation (Trip/Tour Route) & Cost:

Jakarta, go with commuter line from various station to Bogor. It took about one hour trip from Jakarta. The commuter line cost start 2500 IDR vary from your start point. When you arrive to the Bogor station, visitor can continue travel by walk to the left from the exit gate. Follow the Pedestrian and you will find the gate of Istana Bogor (it takes about 10 minutes walk). Cross the street and go to the right you will meet the first gate of Bogor botanical garden (it is not main gate but you can enter from this gate). Meanwhile you can enjoy these city attraction (mosque and church stand together in single area) when walking:
