Dieng Culture Festival, the mystical ritual from the civilization of Dieng plateau community in Central Java. It held annually as the unique dread-lock kids’ ritual ceremony or in local words called "Ruwatan anak gembel/gimbal" and present cultural art festival such as: Puppet shows, Dieng finest product exhibition, music and film, or other Agenda.

The dread-lock kids naturally born with normal hair, but in one time of their young life, their hair become dread-lock by itself, amazingly. While the dread-lock hair commonly well known as Jamaican Rastafarian style. In various scientific studies, these phenomenons can not been explained. According to the local culture and belief the kids are chosen by ancestor for this gift. And the dread-lock hair may not been terminated until the children asking by themselves.  When the dread-lock hair shaven off, it must be present on the precious mystical of ritual ceremonies series and bring some special unique gift which asking by the children themselves. It is the conditions to full fill the ritual.
Basically the ritual held in the Arjuna temple where the main celebration and agenda will be animated at the 31st July until second August 2015. The shaving off hair will be taken to the lake near the area to symbolizing returning the hair to the ancestor.

Transportation (Trip/Tour Route) & Cost:
  • Semarang: two hours trip by rent car or private bus
    • Public transport: from Semarang use the bus route Semarang - Purwokerto, then you transit at Wonosobo, interchange with micro-bus to Dieng and stop at the Dieng station.
    • Rent Car or Private Bus: Semarang – Secang – Temanggung – Parakan – Wonosobo – Dieng or Semarang – Bandungan – Parakan – Wonosobo – Dieng.
  • Yogyakarta: 
    • Public transport: from Yogyakarta bus station goes to Magelang station. It's about 60 - 90 minute. Then continue with the bus to Wonosobo  station it will take 2 hours trip.  From the Wonosobo station, transit with micro-bus to Dieng and you can stop at Dieng station. 
    • Rent Car / private bus: Yogyakarta – Magelang – Secang – Temanggung – Parakan – Wonosobo – Dieng or Yogyakarta – Magelang – Secang – Temanggung – Parakan – Wonosobo – Dieng
